Waste is generated at home. Residents segregate into 4 colour-coded bins provided by Shamashbery.

Segregate

Wet, Dry, Sanitary and Hazardous waste separated at source — maximising recovery quality.

Transport

GPS-tracked sealed vehicles safely transport segregated waste to the district collection facility.

Products & Dispose

4-Stream Segregation

Types of Waste — Every Piece Has a Place

We follow the national waste management protocol. Segregating at source into four colour-coded streams maximises recovery, minimises landfill, and protects J&K's environment.

WET / BIO WASTE

Kitchen scraps, fruit peels, vegetable waste, cooked food, garden trimmings. Converted into rich organic compost and vermicompost for J&K agriculture.

What We Create from Your Waste

Every kilogram of waste that enters our system becomes something valuable. Here are the products and energy resources we generate — creating economic value while protecting J&K's environment.

Pyrolysis Oil

Fuel-grade oil extracted from plastic and organic waste through pyrolysis — a clean alternative to conventional fuel.

Biogas / Syngas

Combustible gas generated from organic waste decomposition, used for cooking, heating and electricity generation.

Char / Charcoal

Carbon-rich char produced from pyrolysis — used as soil amendment (biochar) and as industrial fuel.

Refuse-Derived Fuel

High-calorific RDF pellets from non-recyclable dry waste — supplied to cement kilns and industrial boilers.

Organic Compost

Nutrient-rich compost from bio-waste, certified for agricultural use — boosting J&K's fruit and vegetable yields.

Vermicompost

Premium worm-processed organic manure — ideal for J&K's apple orchards, saffron fields and kitchen gardens.

Eco Bricks & Pavers

Compressed bricks and paver blocks manufactured from processed plastic waste — durable, weather-resistant.

Plastic Tiles

Construction-grade tiles made from mixed plastic waste — used in flooring, pathways and building applications.

Reduce

Minimise waste at source. Choose minimal packaging, buy local, cook right quantities. The waste that is never generated is the easiest to manage.

Reuse

Before discarding, ask if it can be used again. Repair instead of replace. Donate instead of discard. Reuse extends product life and delays waste generation.

Recycle

Correct segregation enables recycling. Plastic becomes pellets and tiles. Paper becomes pulp. Glass becomes cullet. Organic matter becomes compost.

Recover

Non-recyclable waste is still a resource. Energy recovery through pyrolysis, biogas and RDF ensures nothing with value is landfilled.
